My beer drinking buddy from the north of Canada, Jawsman, told me about this page. It gets 5 bottles. I think the best Canadian beer is St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

west on New Brunswick. I am an Alexander Keith's

Yes, there is a brewpub in New Brunswick! Picaroon's has opened a pub in Piper's Lane, across the street from its brewery in King Street. I tried bitter (good, noticeable but not overpowering hop tastes), wheat (light), and Scottish Ale (good taste - not a heavy). In Nova Scotia I went to Granite Brewery in Halifax - all excellent beers - and Paddy's Pub n Kentville, again excellent. Paddy's had a nice medium dry cider as well. After all those microbrews, the tasting room in Moosehead Brewery was a disappointment. I like Moosehead in the States, but in the Maritimes it is served too gassy.

Stopped at the tourist office in Kentville for directions for Paddy's. Guy there obviously a fan, since he woke up, raced over to the rack to get me a menu, and walked out the door to show me route.

Great resource, since we are planning a trip to Vancouver and
Victory soon. We were up there 2 years ago and loved the area,
and the people.

So many beers, so little time. Excellent site.
As most of us know, Canadian beer is #1.
Big Rock Traditional Ale is a fine dark beer for anybody coming out west!

Nelson Brewing Company (Nelson, B.C.)
Valhalla Gold, Old Brewery Ale, Strong Ale, After Dark.
Handcrafted unpasteurized English style ales made with full leaf hops.
Now available in Alberta. The After Dark is a mild brown ale that is known
as the aphrodisiac of beers because of it's food match with oysters!

Quite please that Labatt's bought Rolling Rock of Latrobe, Pa. Having been a Rock drinker going on 25 years, its refreshing that in the days of corporate mergers Labatts let the Latrobe Brewing Company remain an independent. The beer is still as good as it was 25 years ago. I might ad, Labatts is terrific, but not available that many placs in Maryland. Thanks again Canada.

Looks good! I'll find this valuable as I wander around
the country. Is there any way to tell which breweries
are into contract brewing from this index?
