Ask Real Beer
July 1999
Dear Friends, I have heard that a beer glass should be used for beer and
beer only. If anything else is put into it i.e.: milk, soda, etc. it will
taint the true beer taste. It seems to me that if you wash and sanitize the
glass it wouldn't matter what was put into it. Thank you for your input.
We couldn't find anybody at Real Beer who understands why you would use a glass
for anything other than beer ... However, we checked and found that you can put milk in a glass and if properly washed the glass will still be OK for beer. Just make sure it is clean. A dirty glass will keep you from putting a proper head on beer. Read more on keeping glasses "beer clean."
