My son has been digging in our back yard for treasure. Today, he dug up three old bottles with raised lettering "David Mayer Brewing Co. New York Registered." He is hoping they are antiques. How can I find out when this company was in existence?

From Beer Dave: Your son has found some great old embossed bottles. The David Mayer Brewing Co. operated from 1882 until 1920. The brewery was in New York City at 1650 Third Ave. at 168th St.
