Beer named for politician
Slovokian brewery honors finance minister
Mar 9, 2000 - Slovokian brewery Topvar has named a beer after Finance Minister Brigita Schmognerova.
"We sell beers Marina, Fatima ... so why could not we add Brigita to our list?" Topvar's marketing director Jozef Nemec was quoted in the daily Sme. Schmognerova and Ivan Miklos, the deputy prime minister for the economy, are the main architects of Slovakia's economic reforms since the pro-Western government came to power in 1998.
