German retirees win beer battle
Court awards them yearly beer allowance they'd been promised
Aug 9, 2000 - A German court in Erfurt has ruled that two retired brewery workers should receive 264 pints of free beer a year as part of their pension package and also receive back pay for three unpaid years worth of beer.
The retirees spent three years in court fighting for the beer. The brewery originally promise workers and retirees 422 pints of free beer a year, but reneged after changing ownership.
