Bush gets 'beer vote'
Sam Adams poll finds voters would rather have a beer with Texas governor
Oct 17, 2000 - A new poll finds that voters would rather sit down and drink a beer with George Bush than Al Gore, but with Election Day nearing nearly a quarter of them are undecided.
The Sam Adams/Roper Starch survey gave Bush a 3-point advantage (40% vs. 37%) when voters were asked which candidate they'd rather have a beer with. Gore does rate better with women, outpolling Bush 39%-34%.
