Guinness rolls out Irish ale for St. Patrick's Day
Mar 11, 2004 - Smithwick's Irish Ale is headed for U.S. pubs in time for St. Patrick's Day. One of the questions most often asked of Realbeer.com has been "Where can I buy Smithwick's," and until now the answer has been, "In Canada."
Guinness USA has announced that Smithwick's will be available in draught form in hundreds of Irish pubs across the United States. Key markets include New York, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Made by Guinness in Ireland, Smithwick's is inspired by John Smithwick's original recipe, which was first brewed at St. Francis Abbey in Kilkenny, Ireland. St. Francis Abbey has been in operation since 1710, making it one of Ireland's oldest breweries.
