As a beer-saavy travel would expect, finding a good beer in Alabama is difficult and its airports are no different. When flying out of Huntsville (HSV) the best chance for a brew is at Casa Ortega at Gate 6. The products are bottled only ($4.50) but drinkable. Selection includes Heineken, Sam Adams Boston Lager, Modelo Especial, Negra Modelo, Newcastle Brown, Guinness, Fosters, Yuengling and Amstel Light. The bar closes at an outrageous 7 pm but does offer a slight work-around. Patrons can get their beers poured into sytrafoam "to-go" cups and take them out into the gates' waiting areas. While no gate information is visible or audible at the bar, there is so little activity at the airport that its easy to step out into the concourse and see what going on with your flight. The benefits of a small-scale airport.
