The Duinen bottled beers are labeled in English as "Belgian Abbey Ale", but they are not brewed at Abdij ter Duinen but rather by Brouwerij Huyghe in Melle, Belgium. The 330 ml bottle of Tripel Abbey Ale is an opaque white and its contents boast a 9.0% alcohol by volume (abv) level. The Tripel pours a very hazy dark amber color. Mellow, honey-like esters first strike the senses. Next, the big malty sweetness starts rich and sweet before turning slightly drier toward the finish. Overall, this brew presents a full, almost heavy, body with a smooth mouthfeel. Lots of complex flavors and textures to experience.
