Imported bottles of the 4.5% OB Lager Beer from Oriental Brewery in Seoul are now finding their way to some U.S. retailers. Pouring a clear light gold color, plenty of carbonation is noticeable along with an aroma common to rice-based beers. The light crisp hop character combines with the effervescent mouthfeel on the tongue before the flavor finishes on the dry side. This clean dry finish might also be attributable to the use of some rice in the grain bill. The bottled product seems to survive the long journey well and offers customers a more mellow light lager than some of the products from the Japanese mega-breweries.
