In the Seattle suburb of Woodinville, the people behind Métier Brewing believe that great beer is a bridge to more equitable, connected communities. This year, they’re taking that mission to the masses.
Plenty of breweries say they want to help strengthen their communities, but few can show as much expertise, commitment, and follow-through in that area as Métier Brewing. Everything from where the beer is sold to who creates the artwork to the choice of general contractors reflects the brewery’s mission: “Brew damn good beer and build stronger community to inspire bigger dreams for all.â€

WA – Beer tasting and beer history with Foggy Noggin and Ron Pattinson
Tickets are now on sale for a special event at Foggy Noggin Brewing in Bothell. Ron Pattinson is a revered historian and author. He returns to Foggy Noggin Brewing on Saturday, July 24th for another beer tasting and discussion about beer history. This is the third time Ron has visited Foggy Noggin for such an event — the previous two events sold out.
The event includes a guided tasting and history lesson involving six historical British beer styles.

Bear Republic explains how its solar system works
Bear Republic is in the upper echelon of craft breweries with sustainability commitments. To just run through a few things real quick: Flow meters and a plant-wide data collection make more efficient use of water (3.5 to 3.75 gallons of water to brew one gallon of beer). They have an anaerobic digester that cleans the brewery’s wastewater and generates biogas. Spent hops are strained and utilized as a soil amendment; spent brewer’s grain ends up as livestock feed.
