Men's 'kindergarten' includes beer
German women have place to leave partners while they shop
Oct 9, 2003 - What should a "kindergarten for men" include? How about beer for starters?
Taking a suggesting from a female customer, Alexander Stein of the Nox Bar in Hamburg, Germany, has opened a Saturday afternoon "Maennergarten" where women can leave their significant others while they shop. "The women are issued a receipt for their partners when they hand them in and can pick them up again when they return it to us later," Stein said. The men are given a name badge on arrival and for 10 euros ($11.80) they get two beers, a hot meal, televised soccer and games. "Last week the men had a remote control car to play with. Next week there's going to be a mini racetrack," said Stein.
