Visiting Ireland
Few places on the planet are as crammed with history as Ireland. Everywhere you look there are castles, houses and monuments, some even older than the Pyramids. In Ireland the past is part of the present, part of the people and part of its vibrant culture. The Irish Tourist Board has assembled all the information a visitor to Ireland might need.
Ireland is home to some of the finest golf courses in the world. The list is almost endless: from classics like Ballybunion, Portmarnock, Royal County Down, Waterville & Royal Portrush to new courses, such as Mount Juliet, The K Club, and The Old Head of Kinsale.
There are 40 million Irish-Americans (compare that to Ireland's population of 5 million), so plenty of tourists go looking for the actually family sod. This site has information on everything from family crests to marriage records.
Dalta na Gaeilge is a tax exempt, not for profit corporation dedicated to promoting and teaching the Irish language.
