Originally Published: Sum/93
Following two years of development, Fred Roven, the president of The Brewery on Martha's Vineyard, Inc., announces that the brewery will open a 3,000 square foot facility in Oak Bluffs in June.
The first product, Menemsha Golden Ale, is planned to be released in mid-June on the island, in both draught and bottled versions. Land in West Tisbury has been contracted for the brewery to grow its own hops. Brewing equipment is being designed and installed leading craft brew provider JV Northwest of Oregon.
A popular summer tourist destination and longtime summer haunt of the rich and famous, the Martha's Vineyard brewery joins the Bar Harbor Brewing Company on Maine's Mount Desert Island as one of the few island breweries in New England.
For more information, write the brewery at P.O. Box 1142, Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts, 02568, or call (508) 696-8400.
