Beer: Nut Brown Ale
Brewer: Keith Symonds, New England Brewing Company, Norwalk, Connecticut
Appearance: Intense copper color. A creamy, textured head with great lacing on the glass.
Aroma: Like lightly toasted walnuts.
Taste: The hops come straight through, but they're not overdone--they're restrained--and the beer doesn't lose its essential brown ale qualities. Pleasant hop bitter aftertaste. A lovely blend with the dark malts supporting the dry hopping.
Summary: This is a balanced beer with more front and finish than middle. Squarely in the tradition of American brown ales with the hop notes. It's like a Newcastle Brown Ale, but with taste.
Brewer's Notes: Brewed with pale, crystal and chocolate malts; Northern Brewer hops for bittering and Willamette hops for flavor and dry hopping; 13 degrees Plato; 5.2% ABV
